Neymar went off injured in the seventh minute of the Brazil v Cameroon friendly at the Stadium MK on Tuesday evening and he was joined on the injury list by PSG team-mate Mbappé, who fell awkwardly and injured his shoulder during France’s friendly against Uruguay.

Neymar pulled up straight after sending a long ball into the box and indicated that he would not be able to carry on. He then lay down on the turf, holding his groin. He was helped from the field, limping, but not requiring a stretcher, to be replaced by Richarlison, who went on to open the scoring for Brazil.
Mbappe was forced off during France’s international game. Neymar also limped off during his game for Brazil.

After the match, Brazilian team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, said “it’s too early” to give a definitive diagnosis regarding Neymar’s injury, given that “it’ll need 24 hours to know exactly what’s happened”. However he was optimistic: “It doesn’t seem like anything serious, but I can’t say when he’ll be back”.

Mbappé meanwhile went down as he ran through on Campana in the Uruguay goal, and twisted his arm and shoulder as he landed. After receiving medical attention he tried to carry on, but almost instantly asked to be substituted and went off in clear distress.
