Money is Sweet: Gor Mahia Give Conditions to Offload Key Duo

Gor Mahia football club has been on the news for sometime now ever since fan’s favourite coach Dylan Kerr resigned from his role to join Black Leopards of South Africa.

It was reported that Kerr was in the market for new players to help him strengthen his new side with key among his targets being Gor Mahia duo of Philemon Otieno and Francis Kahata.

When reached for comment about the possibility of Gor Mahia selling the two, Deputy Secretary General Ronald Ngala said the club will not stand on the way of any player, who wants to leave, if the right channel is followed.

“We are in business and if we get a good offer, we’ll definitely consider it. Our policy is known; we cannot stop any player from leaving if the right procedures are followed, refusing to give a release letter will not benefit the involved parties, everything should be discussed and in the end, an amicable solution reached.

“Kahata is contracted to us until June next year while Otieno is contracted to us up to 2020. So if Black Leopards are interested to sign the two players, they should follow the due process in regards to transfers,” said Ngala.

Meanwhile, Luc Eymael has withdrawn from the race to handle the Kenyan champions.

The Belgian was among the coaches, who had shown keen interest to succeed Dylan Kerr. The former AFC Leopards coach has now told revealed that he will not be coming to Kenya to take up the vacant role at K’Ogalo.

“I will not come to Kenya and have taken that decision. I will not sign for Gor Mahia. I will let you know when I sign for another club but it will not be Gor Mahia. The club is yet to get back to me and I already have other offers on the table that I will consider,” said Eymael.

“It is one week since I resigned from Free State Stars and have already received the release letter from the club. So I need to consider the options that I have on the table and get started again. Like I told you, I already miss the dugout and want to make a quick return.” he added.
