The victim is a 23 year old female Italian Aid worker volunteering at a children’s home in Chakama village 80kms West of Malindi. Attackers are suspected al-Shabaab though the Police say it’s ‘bandits’. Among the injured were three children.
Kenyans have taken to social media to condemn the act and express their varying opinions on the attack that happened deep in a remote village in Malindi.
I am not a security expert but its highly unlikely that the gun men who kidnapped a foreigner at Chakama, 80kms west of Malindi are AlShabaab. The place is very interior and dry…I wonder how they would move her back to base
