Are Kenyans petty or justified to defend KQ?
BBC Journalist and business editor formerly with Standard and Nation Larry Madowo found himself on the wrong side of KOT after he seemed to demean Kenya;s National carrier.
Madowo explained that KLM passengers who couldn’t travel last evening after their plane developed technical problems were to be accommodated in much smaller Kenya Airways planes but the language did not go down well with some Kenyans.
See that big blue bird on the left? It didn’t fly last night so all the 2 million displaced pax have to fit into one of these little white nests on the right. We’ll be packed in there like sardines, fam pic.twitter.com/eopah4akYA

Well @ times be patriotic…..ata Jeff Koinange alimuwa CNN siku hizi ako Royal Media. Be proud of your country like your mother. Kenya Airways is rising and so is Kenya…..you cannot compare them with KLM who have been around for more than 100 years.

Actually this kq dream has more comfortable seats than that old ,ready for retirement, queen of the skies right there…it doesnt matter how big an aircraft looks it can only carry as many passengers as the available seats fam☺️

The KLM plane that Larry called the ‘Big blue bird’ is a B738 dubbed the Queen of the skies KLM 566 LR that Flies the route HKJK-EHAM (Nairobi- Amsterdam).
The 1st. plane from Kenya airways of those he [Larry] refered to as Small bird is a Embraer 190 E190 that has a range of only flying to African airport’s from Hub HKJK while the other KQ plane is a B788 Dream liner. That was the only available alternative to EHAM that dint take off on Tuesday 20th November night.
Some Kenyans were however quick to defend Larry Madowo asking others to keep off.
Everyone missed the point where it says ‘didn’t fly last night’. That’s the crux of the matter. But fake patriots endeleeni na kusifu KQ not knowing Hiyo ni kama gari ya mrengo sasa. Bad that @KLM didn’t fly. Bad that @KenyaAirways has planes waiting for KLM ikose kufly

That there is no indication that Larry had booked a KLM, yet people are here bashing him for saying the KQ flights will be fully booked, thanks to their partnership with the former.
