Clubs in race for Origi’s signature

Liverpool FC outcast Divock Origi is expected to depart the club during the upcoming January transfer window after falling down the pecking order and it is rumoured that Premier League side Wolves and Turkish giants Galatasaray have shown interest in the 23 year old striker.

The Belgian international who is son to former Kenyan international Mike Okoth, has made only one appearance this season for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and it came on match day 4 of the Champions League as he came on for the final 11 minutes of the 2-0 loss away to Red Star Belgrade.

Reports in England claim that Wolves have been interested in Origi, who spent last season on-loan with German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, since the start of the current campaign and are now willing to make their interest known for the $25m rated striker.

Nuno Espirito’s side are looking for a player to boost their attacking department that has scored 12 goals in 12 league games.

Galatasaray on the other hand are believed to be interested in a loan-deal which could place Wolves ahead of them in acquiring the former Lille star.

Since joining Liverpool in 2014 after an impressive World Cup, Origi has made 78 appearances for the Mersey side club, scoring 21 goals.

His most fruitful season was the 2016-17 campaign where he made 34 appearances in the league with 20 being starts.
