Ladies express anger of men controlling their bodies after Marie stopes ban

Ezekiel Mutua CEO at the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) took to twitter to announce that adverts promoting abortion should stop since the activity is illegal in Kenya.

Marie Stopes has been banned by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board from conducting abortions in Kenya.

The board further advised the health service provider against publishing misleading information on its website.

The facility has also been directed to submit, within 60 days, a report of the reviewed guidelines “to conform with the law.”

Led by Daniel Yumbya, the board further directed that the hospital submits weekly returns to the regulator over the next 60 days.

Marie Stopes was also blocked from running advertisements that contravene Public Health Facilities Advertising Rules, 2016.

But ladies on twitter have claimed men have taken their authority to make their own choices over their bodies.

At the same time a section of Kenyans, both men and women are dissatisfied with the board’s directives with some threatening to take to the streets.

One Wairimu however thought it was ironical that men responsible for pregnancies become dead beat dads and now are at the fore front of stopping an abortion ban.
