The two, Mary Nyaguthii Mathari and Mary Nyamwea Gathiaka, were arrested on Friday after they received a tip-off from members of the public.

In a tweet by the DCI” Detectives working on intelligence Today arrested two ladies; Mary Nyaguthii Mathari and Mary Nyamwea Gathiaka in Thika for drugging unsuspecting victims before robbing them off. Several Tablets of Stilnox Drugs used to stupefy people in clubs & several SIM cards recovered.”

According to the detectives the two were arrested within Thika while in possession of tablets of Stilnox, a drug used to stupefy people, and several SIM cards.Police did not however say where the suspects have been carrying out their trade.

Recently police in Kilifi County arrested four women and a man suspected to be involved in spiking bar patrons’ drugs and stealing valuables and other personal effects from them.

The five who were paraded at the Mtwapa Police station.

Kilifi County DCIO, Mr Christopher Chesoli said that police had been tracking the group who have been carrying out their clandestine activities along the lower Coastal belt from South Coast in Diani, Mombasa and Mtwapa in Kilifi.
