Suicide on the highway! Outering commuters shocked

It was shock for residents of various parts of eastlands in Nairobi who commute through the Outering Road after they bumped into a body of a middle aged man dangling from a tree in the early hours of Thursday 15th November morning.

The man who seemed like he had committed suicide in the early morning hours seemed to have left his house fully dressed in warm clothes probably to disguise himself like someone headed to work but with an intention of ending his life.

A small crowd milled around the lifeless body of the man, who was dressed in trousers and a heavy jacket. The police arrived at the scene and took away the body to the Nairobi Mortuary for identification.

By the time you decide to commit suicide, it’s probably because life has gotten you to the place of no return, right? But is it a solution to ll our life problems? 

If your suicide mission fails, and you are arrested, doesn’t that make life even harder for you? Well, in Kenya, if you unsuccessfully try to commit suicide, you will be looking at a jail term.

A 40-year old woman was today arrested after she attempted to commit suicide in Sugutek village, Bureti sub-county, over stress-related issues. According to Kapkisiara Location Chief Lazarus Kirui, the woman tried to take her own life by hanging herself using a mosquito net. The administrator said the woman’s five-year-old son found her dangling from the rafters and kicking in the air while groaning in pain upon entering the house.

The young boy raised the alarm and called the neighbours who got to the scene and rescued the woman just in time. The neighbours administered first aid to the woman who was unconscious but is shocking is that after regaining conciousness, she attempted to take poison but was restrained.

Stephen Mumbo, a manager at an international audit and accounting firm who jumped to his death recently, left St Paul’s Amukura High School in Busia County as the brightest student in 1996.

Schoolmates say was shy. St Paul’s motto was ‘Run to the finish.’ But tragically, Mumbo ran his last race in the journey of life by leaping from the 17th floor of Delta Corner Tower, the headquarters of PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Westlands, Nairobi.

Whatever the case, life is short and there is always a solution to everything. Try one more time and dont give up!!
