From Milimani to Kibra?? Obado in slum’s dock!

Could the County boss have insulted the crocodile while he was still in water?

Migori Governor Okoth Obado has occasionally appeared in Milimani Law Courts following the charges facing him in the gruesome murder of his girlfriend and a Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno. Could you imagine that the County boss would at some point appear in a Kibera based Court?

The Migori County boss is already in Kibra court where he is expected to face gun related charges.

He was arrested on Wednesday and locked up at the Gigiri police station after one of the three guns found at his Migori home was found to be unregistered.

Anti Corruption officials had on Tuesday found eight guns in his houses in Nairobi and Migori in an operation that was initially targetting documents in a graft probe facing the governor.

Seven of the guns are said to be registered and owners known but one is unregistered.

Obado will be facing charges weeks after he was freed on bond in a case in which he is accused of killing his lover Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby. His bail took too long to be ruled, as if he was not a governor! Has he been reduced to a mere nobody?

He has been active lately attending political meetings, often accompanying the Deputy President William Ruto who is seeking to make in-roads in Raila Odinga’s Nyanza backyard.

On Sunday last week, Obado was with DP Ruto in Nyeri where they had attended a memorial marathon for the late Nyeri governor Wahome  Gakuru where he also made comments on the famous ODM leader Raila Odinga’s ‘mamba sayings.’

Obado lamented that he had been thrown into the mouth of crocodiles which were intending to eat him. Could he have insulted the crocodile while his buttocks were still in water?

DP Ruto was the first one to start making comments on the crocodiles that Raila has been using to explain the building bridges initiative, noting that his knowledge about the bible tells him there were no any crocodiles in River Jordan at the time Israelites were crossing.

However, even if Obado will be released, he can still be arrested following graft allegations by EACC.
