Chelsea boss sets a new record that might not be broken soon

Chelsea have had an impressive start to the English Premier League as they are yet to taste defeat, this sort of form has seen Maurizio Sarri break the record for the most games without defeat for a new manager in the division.

The 3-1 win over Crystal Palace saw Maurizio Sarri equal the record for the most games without defeat for a new manager and the draw with Everton saw the Italian break the record.

The record was previously held by Nottingham Forest manager Frank Clark who set the record back in 1994.

Sarri joined Chelsea in the summer from Italian club Napoli after guiding them to a runner’s up finish in the 2017-2018 season. Speaking after the Everton game Sarri was asked if he was proud of breaking the record.

“Yes I am, But of course I have to say thank you to the club because they gave me a very strong squad. I am happy with the second half. We played very well. I am not happy really with the first 25 minutes. We moved the ball slowly. But then I thought we played very well, especially in the second half.”
