The matatu crack down has taken many twists different orders being hurled from different corners. But it is a relief as now passengers will have to pay normal fare rates after Matiang’i intervened.

Most commuters were forced even to pay triple the amount of fare just to reach to their work places.But their cry have reached the heavens.

They will no longer be subjected to this treatment of paying excess as the government now as issued a warning of revoking their licenses.

Transport Secretary James Macharia now says the government will revoke the licenses of the matatus that stayed off the roads on Monday.

He was speaking to journalists on Monday at the Kenya Railways Station in Nairobi.

He also said that the number of trains will be added from 12 to 18 to address the issue of stranded people after matatus stayed off roads.

The striking matatus have also been issued with a warning to return their vehicles to the road failure which they will face the same punishment of their license.

This comes after the government started a massive crack down on matatus. The aim was to root out the matatus which are not worthy and those that do not obey Michuki rules.

This comes after the increase of road accidents experienced in the road for a couple of months. The rate have been high for quite some time.

But they will be forced to abide to new traffic rules that failure to which will attract heavy fines.All vehicles are required to have a yellow line running throughout the car indicating the number of passengers and the route Sacco.

All vehicles are to have seat belts failure to which the car will attract a fine of ksh.10,000 for each seat. All drivers and the touts have to wear uniforms as stipulated by the law.

The law targets all road users including passengers and motorists.
