The reason Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba missed his flight back to England with his teammates after their UEFA Champions League tie with Juventus has now reportedly been revealed.

Following United’s 2-1 comeback win over the Italian giants in Europe on Wednesday night, during which Pogba went up against his former colleagues, the Frenchman did not make it to the airport in time to catch the flight back to Manchester with the rest of his team.

According to Spanish publication Sport, the 25-year-old was late because he had been called in for a random drug test with UEFA after the match.

Pogba was reportedly then booked on a later flight with some United directors, as well as some of the club’s supporters.

In terms of football, the Frenchman had a fairly quiet game in Turin, although he was involved in both of United’s late goals.

For the first, it was Pogba who won the free-kick on the edge of the area before Juan Mata scored with an excellently taken set-piece, while for the second, the midfielder’s pressure on Alex Sandro from a set-piece into the box caused the Italian’s unfortunate own goal.

The former Juventus star, who has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford since the beginning of the season, has scored five goals and assisted a further four strikes in 15 matches for the Red Devils so far in this campaign.

Do you think Pogba could still leave United in the near future?
