Chelsea have a big task to keep Hazard

Chelsea face a battle to keep Hazard in west London next season.

The Belgian star is in the final 18 months of his contract at the club and a switch to Spain looks to be on the cards.

It’s been claimed a potential spanner in the works could be the appointment of Conte as Julen Lopetegui’s replacement at Real.

However the prospect of a reunion in Spain won’t deter the Belgium international from making the move, according to Football Operations and Communications Consultant Ian McGarry.

Speaking about Conte’s potential move to Madrid on the latest episode of the Transfer Window Podcast, McGarry said: “I don’t think it think it complicates Hazard’s plans.

“I know there’s been a lot of talk about Chelsea’s chances of keeping him being increased should Conte be appointed Real Madrid coach.

“I’m really not in that camp.

“I think Hazard is much more pragmatic than that and will make a decision based on his own will and desire rather than who the coach is.
