DP William Ruto’s Bags of Goodies Set For Luo Nyanza

After transversing various parts of the country and initiating various development projects while at times issuing large sums of money at public gatherings, deputy president William Ruto is set to finally extend his generous art of giving to the great people of Luo Nyanza.

The deputy president is tomorrow expected to visit Homa Bay and Migori County to launch various government projects in the two regions.

Key among the projects set to be launched is the 45-km Kanyadhiang’-Kadel ring road.

He is also set to launch electrification projects, under the Last Mile Connectivity, in Karachuonyo constituency before heading to Migori.

In Homa Bay, the DP will be hosted by Karachuonyo MP Adipo Okuome and county officials.

Ketraco chairman and former Karachuonyo MP James Rege will accompany the DP on the tour.

In Migori, Ruto will commission Kehancha-Muhuru road, street lighting at Masara trading centre, and last mile at Muhuru market.

Suna West MP Peter Masara and Governor Okoth Obado will host the deputy president in Migori.

Okuome told journalists in Kendu Bay on Sunday that completion of works on the Kanyadhiang’ ring road will spur economic development in the area.

The deputy president’s visit to Homa bay and Migori Counties comes just a week after Gideon Moi visited Homa Bay and was given a warm welcome by both the residents and political leaders from the region.

It will be interesting to see how the deputy president counter’s Gideon Moi’s perceived growing influence in the region after it emerged that leader’s from Homa bay led by Hon. Gladys Wanga assured Gideon of the region’s support.

Gladys Wanga said the handshake deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila is an indication the latter is a reputable leader who means well for the country.

She said they will support Gideon in his political endeavours.

“We want Gideon to work together with Mr Odinga and take this country forward. We are humbled with his humility. He has all the qualities of a good leader,” said Wanga.

Wanga continued her praises on Gideon Moi terming him a man that can champion for development in the country.

William Ruto and Gideon Moi do not see eye to eye politically. Some leaders from the two regions have also publicly opposed William Ruto’s Presidential ambitions terming them as pure wild dreams.

Before Homa Bay and Migori, Ruto was previously in Embu where he also took his development aganda.. As part of his “Tanga Tanga” programme the DP toured the vast Embu county and initiated various development projects.

He opened a Privamnuts EPZ Macadamia Processing Plant in Manyatta.

He was also present at the  launch of the University of Embu Endowment Fund and the opening of Prof George Magoha Library in Manyatta, Embu County.

The people of Nyanza are expected to welcome the deputy president as he always comes with a”bag of goodies” everywhere he goes.

Homa Bay Jubilee party coordinator Odhiambo Markowiti said: “Majority of residents are focusing on development.”

The county Bunge la Wananchi speaker Walter Opiyo said they want DP Ruto to frequently visit the area for discussions on matters development.
