‘This is how you do it’ Klopp told how to get Roberto Firmino back to his best vs Arsenal

Advice can come from anywhere right? That’s according to formers Reds midfielder Jan Molby who thinks the Brazilian Firmino has dropped his output this season. Firmino scored 27 goals last term as his former part of Liverpool’s tri-pronged attack.

Alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, the former Hoffenheim star’s high energy style caused opponents huge problems. Despite Liverpool’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season, Firmino has not been at quite the same level.

And Molby thinks Klopp needs to revert to the tactics he used last year to get the best out of the forward.

“Roberto Firmino enjoyed his best season ever last time around but he’s not quite hit those heights so far. But why?

“We are trying to evolve as a team, trying to play slightly differently and using less energy than we did during games last year.

“One or two players are getting different roles. It happens.

“Last season, there were suggestions Liverpool were becoming predictable but because they were playing so well, it was difficult to stop.

“Now maybe Klopp is looking at things a different way, and with Firmino playing slightly differently he has runners ahead of him and either side.

“Firmino’s goal against Red Star Belgrade last week was a welcome one, but he was pretty subdued against Cardiff.

“The quicker we get him back to his best, the better.

“Maybe that’s by going back to what we did last season and pushing him further forward.

“Firmino is at his best when he is working really, really hard without the ball, intercepting and breaking from there. Maybe that’s what we need to get back to.”

Liverpoolhavemade their best start to a top-flight campaign since the Premier League began in 1992-93.

Klopp takes his side to the Emirates tomorrow to face in-form Arsenal.
