Revealed: Why Tuyisenge is Not at Goodison Park

Gor Mahia has left for the United Kingdom in preparations for their friendly against Everton on November 6.

Among the player, who was initially supposed to be on board, is Rwanda captain Jacques Tuyisenge, however, he has not traveled. It has now been reported that Tuyisenge did not submit his passport in time and so there was a problem in acquiring in Visa.

“Tuyisenge submitted his passport late, so we had a problem in acquiring his Visa on time. It is being worked on and we are expecting to have him on board alongside the second batch of the party set to travel on fourth, that is Sunday,” said a top Gor Mahia official

A Gor Mahia contingent  left the Jomo Kenyatta international airport for England where the team is scheduled to face off with Everton FC at Goodison Park in Liverpool on Tuesday.

Gor Mahia, commonly referred to as K’Ogalo booked a second date with Everton after winning the Super Cup following a 2-0 victory over Simba SC in June.

The victory over the Tanzanian side came with a free ticket to Goodison Park to face Everton.

Gor Mahia however lost 2-1 to Everton in July 2017, during another friendly played in Tanzania.

Gor Mahia FC players believe their crunch tie against nine times English Premier League champions, Everton FC, at Goodison Park on Tuesday night will offer a great platform to be identified by scouts.

The head coach, Dylan Kerr, in September revealed that former Liverpool FC captain and current Rangers FC coach, Steven Gerrard, would attend the match to look for talent.

Dressed in dapper suits, beige khaki pants and navy blue blazers, the contingent of 22 players and two officials were hopeful to nip victory in Merseyside.

Captain Harun Shakava predicted a tough battle against the English opponents saying they are not ready to lose to Everton again.

“Our game plan will be to try to score early then defend well as a team. As you know the best way to shield is to attack, so we will mostly be on the offensive,” he underscored.

“My prayer is that the weather would favor us, I hear it’s very cold in Liverpool so this might affect our performance us as we are not used to such climate,” he added.
