‘Ni kujipanga my friend!’ DP Ruto’s allies meet to cement his 2022 presidential plans

Deputy President William Ruto’s allies might have started to make their own plans on Ruto’s presidential plans after President Uhuru Kenyatta failed to openly declare support for him.

On Thursday, President Kenyatta was in Nyeri County where he officially opened Karatina market in Uthaya Constituency.

The president made shocking revelations about his 2022 politics plans when he cited that he has a strong influence on the polls and his critics will be left in a big shock.

However, as President Kenyatta’s event in Nyeri went on, DP Ruto’s allies also converged to make proper plans on his presidential bid.

A group of Rift Valley politicians met former Governor Isaac Rutto in Bomet in what was seen as a move to cement William Ruto’s 2022 presidential plans.

The meeting which brought together Chama cha Mashinani party officials, elected leaders, former aspirants and supporters was convened by Rutto at his Chepalungu home.

The eight-hour-long meeting which happens days after MPs from Mt Kenya region met in Naivasha was attended by governors Paul Chepkwony (Kericho), Samuel Tunai (Narok) and Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu).

Others were Kanu-elected Governor John Lonyangapuo (West Pokot), Kericho senator Aaron Cheruiyot, the DP’s personal assistant Farouk Kibet and Chepalungu MP Gideon Koskei.

The politicians declined to speak to the press.

A source privy to the meeting said they had been invited to attend to the meeting where some ‘visitors’ would attend.

“We just received calls on Wednesday evening that we are supposed to be at the home on Thursday morning and that the agenda will be party matters,” said one of the former aspirants who requested anonymity.

However, while in Nyeri, Uhuru asked leaders traversing the country seeking support of certain leaders to work first before assuming they have a huge support.

He asked leaders across the nation to unite and work with him since he is committed to serving Kenyans.
