It is only in Kenya where its citizens can go hungry while maize is rotting and considered unfit for human consumption. It is only in Kenya where farmers are left stranded with their harvest because the high people in the ministry want quick and easy cash. Yes it is only in Kenya.
For a period of time now CS Mwangi Kiunjuri in charge of agriculture is being roasted by the angry mob. Despite being slapped in public by the president , the man is not ready to make farmers eat on “glass plates.”
Most farmers right now cry more. Their was a time when Agriculture was said to be the backbone of our economy, right now maybe it is the “stomach or headache” of our economy.
Where did this attribute go? Did we lose those farmers who could drive the economy forward , let me ask when did the rains start beating us?
Now CS Mwangi Kiunjuri says that 60% of maize in NCPB stores is unfit for human consumption. The same maize that NCPB bought from swindlers, fraudsters and thieves whom he is currently protecting. We did not only lose billions of money in taxes, but we have also lost the maize!

The answer is simple the hungry cartels who want to grow bellies. The cartel running NCPB board and the ministry of Agriculture is the cause of it all.
Instead of getting maize from our local farmers they decide to go and import illegal maize not a handful but 4.4 million bags of maize. The maize is not even cheap as you may thing each bag goes for 3k. That is equivalent to almost 13 billion shillings. While in Kenya the farmers still have their maize and those who delivered have not paid.
The CS Mwangi Kiunjuri is now busy passing blames instead of finding a solution, Maybe the presidents warnings were too cold to even scare the guy to get up on his feet.

Most Kenyans are not pleased with this state saying Kiunjuri must resign and this time round the perpetrators be brought to book.
