Do you think guns and armed police officers can scare candidates?
First, how many of those candidates have even seen a gun?
Well, Some candidates might get trauma on the sight of those armed police men. This case is most likely possible in areas where the use of guns is conspicuous.
Most of those candidates who might be affected by seeing armed police are the victims or have experienced the police using force in execution of their mandate.
This is obvious in Kenya. I think many have experienced the rogue police in our country. In Kenya especially after elections and during any demonstrations.
The police have been on the limelight brutally clobbering people even to the worst case of shooting down unarmed citizens. Do you remember Baby Pendo’s case? So sad.
Instead of Government of KENYA using armed police officers and the army to protect exams, i propose that the government use private security guards like the G4S, Lavington Security, Wells Fargo etc.

This might be cause of some candidates failing. The moment they see those armed policeman, they re-ignite those memories. The bad cases they witnessed might start running back in their memories hence affecting their memory.
Some suggestion include hiring other unarmed personal or police in civilian to guard the examinations centers. This will cool down in shock of some candidates who are affected.
DO YOU THINK HAVING POLICE IN EXAM ROOMS AFFECTS SOME OF THE CANDIDATES?
