An international award by the United Nations to Kisumu governor Anyang Nyong’o has elicited many reactions on social media. This was majorly due to a typo error on the award.
Prof. Nyongo received an Excellence in Leadership Award from United Nations Project one. Many of his followers especially from Kisumu county congratulated him for his award while others advised him to return the award since it had a typo error.
Kisumu was apparently wrote as Kismumu and the people from Kisumu did not take that lightly.
The Kisumu governor was awarded for establishing an outstanding economic development initiative to establish Kisumu City as a commercial hub within the East and Central African States.
“This morning I received an Excellence in Leadership Award from Project One @UN for establishing an outstanding economic development initiative to establish Kisumu City as a commercial hub within the East and Central African States,” wrote Anyang Nyongo

The fete was from Project One United Nations, a non-profit 501c3 corporation and a member of the Economic and Social Council to the United Nations as a non-government organization (NGO) with special consultative status.
Blogger Robert Alai though was not moved by the Professor’s award as he termed it Fake.

Is that a spelling mistake by a well respected international body like IN…”KISMUMU” instead of KISUMU.
