Arsenal’s Ozil answers critics

Arsenal player Mesut Ozil can’t help but just laugh at the critics who brand him as a lazy player having played football professionally for 14years.

Ozil has come through a lot of criticism throughout his career making him reach a point of quitting German Football team with many suggesting that he doesn’t give his all on the pitch.

The arsenal captain is amused and feels the critics are wrong since he gives his all and knows when his game is up and when it’s down.

“I just laugh. I am not the youngest anymore but I started playing professionally at the age of 16 or 17 and it’s always been up and down with me – people either like me or they don’t.” Ozil told Skysport

“I don’t listen to these people – I just listen to my coach and my people who say things straight to my face. So of course, if I play bad, I know that, just as I know when I play well.

“The most important thing is that the coach can help me – if I make mistakes he can tell me, we can speak and I can improve for the future.

“The coach wants me to give everything on the pitch – which is what I do but I still work hard to reach my aims.”

Head coach Unai Emery feels the critics are wrong after recognizing his improvement and commitment in training and in the pitch after their match against Leicester city.

Ozil had a stunning performance on Mondays 3-1 win against Leicester city where he scored a goal for his team and assisted for the second goal, making him have a total of four goals in this season bringing him close to breaking his most goal record with eight goals from last season
