We all love our lives and we have have to safeguard it dearly especially when on the roads. Well, most of the people on the roads may not be as careful as you are and one of the main things to watch out are the Rolled Metal Sheets on transit; mostly on the back on trailers.

The cases of dangerous accident and most disgusting in the recent past have been caused by these, most recently in Nairobi where a Nissan Matatu was crashed at a round about in Embakasi. Scared? You haven’t even had enough of this!

In the Wednesday accident, one roll of metal rolled down from the trailer and landed on a 14-seater matatu sending it straight to the scrap metal dealers. It is however not clear if there were any casualties but it is clear that any contact between a human being and that piece of metal will kill within a split second due to the impact.

It is clear from the available images that matatu could hardly run from the scene since the road thins and no space to run. Maybe this kind of cargo should just have its own roads to avoid more of such urgly scenes on our roads.

…and it isnt in Kenya alone! This seems to be one of the most dangerous loads [with petroleum products] squarely on this list as one of the loads you should consider being next to on traffic [not that you have a choice all the time] but when you can keep off! run!

The image below shows a rolled sheet that totally sent a 14-wheel traller off its balance for not being well hooked to the source!

Steel comes in many grades, specifications, shapes, and finishes—the World Steel Association lists over 3,500 different grades of steel, each with unique properties. The various types mean that steel can by widely used in infrastructure, appliances, vehicles, wind turbines, and many more applications.

Optimizing steel’s properties for each application goes beyond changing the chemical composition, however. The manufacturing processing of steel can also have a significant impact on steel products—even when the grades and specifications are the same. One key distinction among pre-fabricated steel products is the difference between hot rolled and cold rolled steel.

If you see that rolled metal, keep an eye; now you know! …or do you want to test its strength?
