Kenyans have today named the people they celebrate ahead of Mashujaa day, from family, leaders, athletes and generally Kenyan icons.
In most cases, some heros/ heroins seem to be forgotten but Kenyans have several who deserve major praise and to be cheered.
From those who died in the efforts of protecting the lives of others to those who went beyond their means for acts of humanity and kindness.
These heros, are what make Kenyans united and stand together in the Hero’s Day celebration.
Who does not enjoy public holidays? Free days..to take a break from the usual maybe not so exciting since it falls under the weekend but hey it still calls for celebrations. I guess it is only in October when we have back to back public holiday but since we have all finished nursing hangovers from the Moi Day celebrations lets gear and psych up for Mashujaa day.
What Mashujaa Day is all about
On 20 of October, Kenyans celebrate Mashujaa day as per the Kenyan Constitution that recognises Heroical struggle for Freedom & Justice to our land & those who have made immense contribution towards the unity of our Nation.
The Government recognizes Heroes & Heroines through Monuments, Statues, Supporting family members, Re-writing History on Struggle for Independence & Recognising Kenyans on Mashujaa Day among others.
