Bony Khalwale has shared on twitter that Musalia Mudavadi agreed to merge Amani National Congress(ANC) and Ford Kenya Parties yesterday but remained adamant on not building alliances with other communities and parties as he is still hurt by Ruto and wont talk to him.
Musalia Mudavadi would have been Jubilee’s presidential candidate in 2012 if plans to have him fronted as the Jubilee Coalition’s flag bearer worked then. The 2013 loss after he went it alone is still fresh in his mind claims the tweet.
The Amani Coalition leader after losing the elections painted a picture of high political stakes at play, drama and deceit saying Uhuru Kenyatta, William Ruto, Najib Balala and Chirau Ali Mwakwere persuaded him to become the Jubilee candidate only to dumped two weeks later.
Yesterday @MusaliaMudavadi agreed publicly with me on the ANC/FORD Kenya merger. But disagreed on the need to built alliances with other communities/parties maintaining that he can’t talk to a competitor (Ruto). According to Bony, voters have welcomed the idea of forming one party that will be used by a Luhya presidential candidate in the 2022 elections. The two major political parties in Western region are merging into one to promote a national outlook in the view of the former senator.
“We welcome other leaders from Jubilee and Orange (Democratic Movement) parties to join the bandwagon as we prepare to take the presidency,” said Dr Khalwale .
He also mentioned that he was willing to leave ODM and join his brothers in forming a formidable party that will sweep votes the same way Narc defeated Kanu in 2002.The governor maintained that ODM leader Raila Odinga must support a Luhya candidate in the 2022 presidential elections.
KOT have reacted to the tweet with some calling the merger theatrics
It wiil never happen …luhya nation won’t install theatrics as its leader

On the other hand there are those who have claimed Mudavadi is simply being honest even though it may be brutal.
That’s brutal honest

He has a valid point. Ruto is a criminal and we will not be voting for criminals. Desist from supporting criminals.

The idea of national unity was started by the handshake between Uhuru and Raila that saw problems when referendum was suggested threatening to break the union due to difference in opinion. ANC and Ford Party are claiming the same but previously hurt Mudavadi says he is not willing to burn the bridge after Ruto betrayed him.
“Kenyatta, Balala, Ruto and Mwakwere arrived in my house uninvited at around 11 am. Kenyatta offered to support me with Ruto as my running mate. I asked them if they were serious and they said yes. I demanded we sign a memorandum of understanding, which we did only for this agreement to be disowned a few days later,” said Musalia.
After signing the initial agreement, both sides had their lawyers draft a proper coalition agreement the same day for it to be deposited at the Registrar of Political Parties Lucy Ndung’u before the December 4 deadline. The parties involved talked for two hours before the lawyers retreated to an undisclosed location to finalize the coalition agreement.
