What Katika Festival is all about
The hype and excitement about the Katika Festival is pretty overwhelming and we can not remain silent about it. The event will be going down in NAX VEGAS (Nakuru county) at Afraha Stadium on 3rd November 2018. The festival aims to create memorable, exciting out of town events for road trip and party lovers. This will be the first Edition of the Katika Festival which will be a bi-monthly event set to be taking place in different locations in Kenya.
- WizKid
Nigerian celebrated artist Wizkid is set to perform during the first edition of Katika Festival alongside Kenyan artists.
Wizkid achieved international recognition following his collaboration with Drake on the global hit, ‘one dance’, which reached number one in 15 countries.
He is famously known for his songs Soco, Daddy Yo, come closer, among other hits.
2. Fena Gitu
Celebrated award winning artist Fena Gitu is a Kenyan musician, songwriter and producer. She is popularly known for her songs Fenamenal woman, Birikicho, Jabulani, African King and one of her recent jam that set the town buzzing is ‘Sijaskia Vibaya’
Her multi talent and prowess in the circles of the music industry has won her admiration from fans and no one would want to miss her performance.
3. Khaligraph Jones
The talented artist also famously known as the real OG/ Baba Yao has worked with other Kenyan artist in some of his previous songs. He is one of the artist with consistency in the music industry and his music is relatable to a large number of the Kenyan youth.
Kenyan Rap God Khaligraph Jones cemented his status as the best rap act not only in Kenya but in the whole of Africa by bagging the award for the Best African Rap Act category.
Hip hop lovers in the country will obviously be thrilled by the performance from such an artist
4. H_art the Band
This is one of Kenya’s famous band that is known for being artistic and have a full touch of smooth vocals,poetry,spoken word, freestyle rap,drama, dance and fashion all blended in together to create impressive music .
Kenyans obviously would not want to miss out on Kenya’s super bands H_art the Band. They are famously known for their songs, uliza kiatu, nikikutazama and love phobic.
Another band that is set to perform is Le Band
5.The Moderators of the event
The hosts/ MCs during the event will be Kenyan Comedian and radio presenter MC Jalango and Taliya Oyando who is a TV host and Radio Presenter at HomeBoyzRadio
Others who will be on Board are DJ Creme, Gene Bakari who is a Kenyan recording artist and song writer famously known for his three successive hits, (“Miss You”, “Say My Name” and “Run”).
