Kenya’s ‘Supa Modo’ film is still winning after being nominated for the Oscars early last month, under the category of Foreign Language Film. Today Supa Modo has appeared in 5 different categories in the list of Kalasha 2018 nominees. The film highlights the plight of a single mother raising a mentally ill child. The story revolves around a young girl whose dream of becoming a superhero is threatened by terminal illness, inspiring her village to rally together to make her dream come true. The film was officially released on 18th February 2018.
The mention of this film has made it known to Kenyan and this serves as a great achievement to the director whose intention from his several films is to change the perception of Africa through his movies.
Earlier this month, the director of Supa Modo shared his joy after Supa Modo added 3 more awards… as Best Narrative Feature , the main prize at the Kino Dzieci Kids Festival in Poland and Audience Choice. So far 21 awards spread across over 30 festivals.
