Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has urged Kakamega residents to extend their usual hospitality to all the guests who will come to grace the occasion.

This year’s Mashujaa day celebrations have been scheduled to take place in Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.

This follows government’s move to be taking the celebrations across all the 47 counties.

In August Oparanya  hosted Interior & National Coordination Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho as plans to host this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations intensified.

H.E. the Governor exuded confidence that the celebrations, marked on 20th during the month of October every year, will indeed be the most colourful of the previous national events held outside Nairobi county.

President Uhuru Kenyatta will lead Kenyans in celebrating the day in Bukhungu Stadium, where notable people are usually recognized.

The president goes to the County when authorities have sustained a crackdown contraband sugar that has adversely affected farmers in the county and the Western Kenya region.
