They said the DP has only been interacting with the “political class only” who will not deliver votes for him.

The youth under the Capital Youth Caucus Association said the DP has not delivered on his promise to create jobs, end drug menace and empower women at the Coast.

“As we speak, 70 per cent of youth in Coast have no job, the association’s secretary general Evans Momanyi said.

Speaking at Paloma Gardens in Likoni on Wednesday, Momanyi said 30 per cent of locals should be absolved by government parastatal in the next recruitment phase.

He said this will vindicate the President and the DP of the sideline claims.

“We no longer want to be used by politicians. Before 2022, we will have changed things,” Momanyi said.

Bruce John from the office of the Mombasa senator said politicians accompanying Ruto are money-driven.

John warned Ruto that he will “lose big time” if he keeps them outside his plans.

In Mombasa, MPs Mohamed Ali (Nyali) Ali Mbogo (Kisauni) and Badi Twalib (Jomvu) support Ruto.

In Kilifi the DP is backed by Aisha Jumwa (Malindi), Owen Baya (Kilifi North) and Paul Katana (Kaloleni).

Khatib Mwashetani (Lunga Lunga), Suleiman Dori (Msambweni), Kassim Tandaza (Matuga) and Benjamin Tayari (Kinango) are leading the DP’s campaigns in Kwale.

Lamu East MP Athman Sharif (JP) has also said he will back Ruto’s bid for the Presidency in 2022 polls.

“They are not aggressive. Why is it that Aden Duale (Garissa Township MP) can push for his people to get opportunities in government and our own cant?” she posed.
