On Sunday October 14, 2018 Kenyan football team Harambee Stars sniffed African Cup of Nations( AFCON) finals after grabbing victory in the return match qualifiers against Walya antelopes of Ethiopia.
The teams drew in an 0-0 ended match in Ethiopia last week.
The 3-0 win in a return match granted Harambe stars an entry into the 2019 AFCON that will be held in Cameroon.
The victory and AFCON qualification which Kenya had not seen for the past 14 good years saw Kenyans and political leaders flock social media with celebrations and congratulatory messages to Victor Wanyama led Harambee stars.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, former Prime minister Raila Odinga, Deputy President William Ruto among many other leaders led Kenyans in the celebrations of the Sunday victory at Kasarani Stadium.
Congratulations #HarambeeStars for the well deserved victory. Hongera and God Bless #Kenya! #AFCON2019

When we pull together united as a people and get clear on our goals, we win.

However, Miguna Miguna who is in Canada after being deported in March for allegedly renouncing his Kenyan citizenship in 1998, was not happy about the victory.
Miguna condemned the leaders and Kenyans against celebrating as he termed the victory as not worth celebrating.
He equated the victory to an incident where an adult can wrestle a toddler to the ground and then celebrate that he had won.
According to Miguna, Ethiopia went through a 30-year-civil-war and has been at the ICU since the war ended.
The lawyer however challenged Harambe stars to beat Brazil, France or Italy for him to join the nation in the victory celebrations.
Fellow Kenyans, celebrating the #KenyaVsEthiopia victory is like an adult celebrating that he has wrestled a toddler to the ground. Ethiopia went through a 30-year-civil-war and has been at the ICU since the war ended. Beat Brazil, France or Italy and I’ll join your celebrations.
