Harambee Stars boss spells out Wanyama’s importance

Harambee Stars head coach Sebastian Migne believes that Victor Wanyama’s availability will be a big boost for the side as they tackle Ethiopia in a two-legged  African Cup on Nation Qualifiers match.

Wanyama missed the second group stage match against Ghana as Harambee Stars won 1-0 at Moi International Sports Center Kasarani in September. The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder failed to honour the call-up prior to the Ghana match after having returned from the injury.

The Frenchman feels that Wanyama’s presence will serve as a morale booster to the rest of the squad. Migne says that the midfielder’s experience will be crucial for the side.

“We won against Ghana without our captain, it will be morale boosting for us to also win with him. He is one of our most experienced players and will be crucial for us against Ethiopia,” he said

Wanyama will be in action against Cardiff, having been named among the substitutes. He is expected to jet to Ethiopia on Monday with rest of the foreign-based side squad.
