Miguna Miguna has joined the heated debate that questions the relevance of the Moi Day which is set to be on Wedesday 10th October. He mentioned that what Kenyans need is justice and not a public holiday.
“Daniel Arap Moi is NOT a hero. He is one of the worst PLUNDERERS (that’s a person who does more than loot) in the world. He murdered, tortured and exiled thousands of Kenyan students, writers and intellectuals. Kenyans need JUSTICE; not holidays! #moiday
The despots can declare #KenyattaDay, #MoiDay, #OdingaDay, #RailaDay, #RutoDay – or whatever day they fancy. But Kenyans are not stupid and will not be distracted to such silly PR stunts. The tyrant @UKenyatta must go with all his HandChequers, looters and murderers!~” reads Miguna Miguna’ tweets.
Kenyans have however criticized his opinion saying that if he thinks that Moi is no Hero to him then it does not mean that it applies to everyone. A section of Kenyans also stated that he is idle and he always speaks negativity and drags names of leaders to blame them for no valid reason. Kenyans claim that Miguna Miguna is speaking from a point of bitterness and directing his anger where it is not welcomed. In his tweet, he mentions President Kenyatta and according to tweeps that was not a necessary move since it was a decision by the High court.
He might not be your hero but he is a hero to majority of us… Your is opinion just like any other small man in Kenya. Btw we respect minority.

He might not be a hero to you but to many he is. It’s greed to only think that your poor perception and little knowledge is the only way Kenyans should believe things. Most of the development we as Kenyans enjoy today were brought by Moi’s dictatorial regime. That’s heroism.

His statement comes after Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i announced that Wednesday, October 10 will be a public holiday as directed in a High Court ruling issued in November last year.
