Could Jowie Irungu Be Monica Kimani’s Killer?

The plot thickens as police try to find the people behind Monica’s brutal murder. According to DNA test results, Jowie Irungu is said to have been at the crime scene the night of Monica’s death and the last person at the apartment.

Monica Kimani was found lifeless in a bathtub at her apartment along Dennis Pritt road with her throat slit from ear to ear. According to detectives, DNA tests such as semen, fingerprints, bloodstains, samples from under her nails and those found in the adhesive tape that was used to cover her mouth have revealed that Jowie Irungu may have been the killer as these samples matched those collected from Mr. Irungu.

Police have also established that  Jowie was actually in the company of another man the night he left Monica’s apartment according to police cameras on Dennis Pritt. However, the identity of the other man is still unknown.

According to information from the police, Jowie used an identity card belonging to Dominic Kamau to sign in at the security gate of Monica’s apartment. Detectives are now looking for Kamau to establish why his ID was used.

At the crime scene, to phones believed to have belonged to Monica were found immersed in water were recovered and it has now emerged that after thorough analysis, police have found information that is crucial in this case.

 

According to an affidavit by Jacque Maribe, Jowie shot himself with a gun belonging to Brian Kassaine. Mr. Irungu is expected to take plea on a murder charge on Monday but police say that he will also be arraigned in court on a separate charge on attempted suicide.

Jacque and Mr. Kassaine are still being detained as police continue investigations for this case. It is also alleged that Mr. Kassaine was in Juba, South Sudan days before Monica was murdered however, police are yet to confirm these claims saying that they intend to extend the probe to Juba for more information.

It is still unclear why Monica was murdered but police believe that there is a connection with money and that is why they are trying to establish how much money she had when she arrived from Juba.
