Is Raila forcing his Cousin to Migori Residents?

Migori County is set for a senatorial by-election on Monday October 8 following the death of Senator Ben Oluoch in June this year.

ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has been on the ground vigorously campaigning for his preferred candidate Ochilo Ayacko.

Odinga has been seen urging Migori residents to vote for Ayacko and reject other candidates whom he has been heard terming as imposters in Migori.

The Party allies led by Mombasa governor Hassan Ali Joho have been in the County moving the masses to vote in Ayacko.

Earlier on, the Party’s Secretary general Edwin Sifuna and Siaya senator James Aggrey Orengo had camped in Migori to ensure that their candidate wins.

On Tuesday, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho moved around the county with masses to have Ayacko Voted in come October 8.

Joho has been in the area since Monday after he traveled along with Suna East Member of Parliament Junnet Mohamed.

On Thursday and Friday Odinga has been scheduled to camp in Migori to convince residents to vote for whom they term as Odinga’s cousin.

Odinga is expected to kick off his campaigning day at Rongo at around 10:00 am then Awendo at 11:00 am on Thursday.

He will then head to Uriri at 12:30pm before proceeding to Nyatike at 2:00pm.

His Party says that he will talk to his people as he campaigns for Ayacko, the party Senatorial candidate.

Odinga’s efforts to campaign for Ayacko makes resident think that they being forced to elect a leader of Raila’s interests and not their interests.

Ayacko is receiving a stiff competition from Governor Okoth Obado’s preferred candidate Eddy Oketch Gicheru who is contesting on a Federal Party ticket.
