Kenyans have reacted to a video in which “Nominated MCA Njambi of ‘Kirimino’ fame insists she is saved and never caused chaos in Speaker Elachi’s office.” Mary Njambi became famous after a video of her rebuking Nairobi county assembly speaker Beatrice Elachi went viral on social media platforms. In the video, Ms Njambi is heard accusing Ms Elachi for attacking her and her colleagues with pepper spray after they had stormed into her office in a bid to throw her out of her office, accusing her for mishandling tax payers money.
While appearing before the county assembly’s Powers and Privileges committee she denied any role in the chaotic and dramatic ouster of speaker Beatrice Elachi. According to the MCA she arrived there peacefully wanting to speak to the speaker. She claims that her peaceful approach was met with retaliation from the embattled speaker who sprayed them with pepper spray.
“Mambo ya kuokoka mimi already huwanga nimeokoka sababu kama sijaokoka si Mungu ndio ananisaidia. Watu wengi huwa wameokoka ni vile tu mtu haendi akitangaza…” said the MCA . When she was asked about whether she has a husband she said “bwana ni yesu”

After the video went viral , the MCA said that she did not expect that but she actually does not care. “None of my family members has asked about the video but for those who have watched it, they laughed and moved on.” Njambi, a single mother of two, said she helps clean the city and ensures schoolchildren do not miss school for lack of fees or uniform.
“I am a hard worker and it’s clearly illustrated by the fact that I have been nominated twice,” she said.
“Honestly, I think I will be vying for the woman representative seat come 2022. I have been in the forefront of fighting for women and the youth. One thing, I am a mobiliser who oversees the ‘Ng’arisha Jiji’ initiative. Another thing I pride myself in is that I ensure children don’t miss school by using my own money and also sourcing for bursaries and scholarships.”
With her vision clearly indicated, her endless drama triggers endless reactions from Kenyans.
