A journalist was on Tuesday brutally attacked and injured by police in Homa Bay County.
Reports indicate that the Standard Newspaper correspondent James Omoro was covering chaos at the County Assembly when the police clobbered him.
During the attack, the police also damaged and confiscated Omoro’s camera.
Chaos were also reported at the Assembly as members of the public camping outside were dispersed by police.

The attack came on the day when the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) presented Corruption Risk Assessment Reports for Homabay County Executive and Assembly.
In September, Nation journalist Barack Oduor narrowly escaped death after an attempted abduction ordeal that culminated in the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
Detectives have linked senior Migori County officials including Governor Okoth Obado to the abduction and the murder of a 7-month pregnant Sharon.
On September 10, two Journalists Lydia Nyawira (Standard) and Irene Mugo (Daily Nation) were arrested and detained at Mukurweini Police Station in Nyeri while pursuing a story.
During the arrest, their mobile phones and notebooks were confiscated and they were later ordered to delete the content they had recorded.
