Citizen TV is on the receiving end of the wrath of Kenyans on Twitter for trying to abandon their journalist Jacque Maribe, who is currently in custody as a suspect in the high profile murder of Monica Kimani.
Maribe, a prime time news political reporter with the Royal Media owned station was arrested on Saturday evening and subsequently arraigned at Kiambu High Court for the murder of Monica who was found dead in her bathtub two weeks ago.
Jacque and her boyfriend Joseph Irungu are being held as prime suspects.
While reporting the story about her detention, Citizen Tv referred to her as TV journalist instead of Citizen TV journalist.
“TV Journalist Jacque Maribe detained for 10 days at Gigiri Police Station to allow probe into the murder of Monica Kimani, Kiambu court rules.” Reads their headline on Twitter.

It has also been rumored that Maribe. has already been send on compulsory paid leave to clear her name from the ongoing investigations.
But Kenyans have attacked the TV station for trying to abandon their employee especially since Maribe has not been found guilty of any charges.
She was your employee, stop referring to her as TV journalist Jacque Maribe. Rather it should be Citizen TV Presenter Jacque Maribe.
There I fixed it for you.— ANTWAN (@antwanizme) October 1, 2018
The irony of it all is that royal media kinda are disowning her through body cues ,she has been under their payroll before this unfortunate incidence

Why disown her now?!..Doesn’t she do you for any good work?

Let me rephrase it for you @citizentvkenya

@citizentvkenya Shouldn’t it be “Citizen TV Journalist?” You have abandoned her because of what she is going through? Disappointed! I also get disappointed with Kenyans, quick in passing judgement and making snide comments. Jacquie Maribe is innocent until proven guilty.

You are suppost to say Citizen Tv Journalist Jacque Maribe. The entire Royal media is just a fake thing, there is no family in Royal Media. A very selfish Organization, when taking awards she was your very own “@citizentvkenya” Journalist but now….PUGA
— Augustine. O. Onyango (@AugustineOdari) October 1, 2018
If she had won jackpot you could be saying, our own Citizen TV journalist, please this lady is your employee

Don’t say TV journalist! Kindly used the correct description…. “Citizen Tv news anchor Jacque Maribe detained for 10 more days! “
