Eleven people reported dead after a bus collided with a truck at Sogea along the Naivasha-Gilgil highway. Sources reveal that eleven people died on the spot, among them seven women and four men. Four other people were taken to the Naivasha Sub-County Hospital.
Kenyans on twitter have reacted to this tragic accident a they shared their condolence messages to the families affected.Many are also leaving messages of quick recovery to those who are still in hospital.
The bus belonging to Climax Sacco was heading to Nairobi from Western Kenya while the trailer was heading to Nakuru from Naivasha. Sources reveal that the bus driver was trying to overtake another vehicle when he hit the truck at around 2am. The bus is said to have collided head on with the truck that was coming from the opposite direction.
On twitter, a tweet shared on parkside road safety page, called upon the National Transport and Safety Authority to take action. The tweet also reveals that 3 accidents have occurred in this same area within one month yet no one seems to be concerned.
