Tears flowed freely as the late Monica Nyawira Kimani who was brutally murdered last week was laid to rest in her family’s farm in Chemichemi village in Gilgil.
Some relatives collapsed while others wailed uncontrollably as the body was lowered into her final resting place some minutes before 4pm.
And two weeks before Monix as she was popularly known celebrated her 29th birthday, her body which was carried in white coffin was interred as her death continued to attract more questions than answers.
Tens of friends and relatives who had come to bid her good bye braved the scorching sun as speaker after speaker spoke fondly of the deceased. At one time, a group of her friends who had traveled from South Sudan broke down after they were given a chance to eulogise her.
This came as details emerged that the deceased once dated Joe Irungu the main suspect behind the beastly murder before they fell apart over his behaviours of dating several women.
