TV girl Jacque Maribe whose fiance Joseph Kuria Irungu AKA Joe Jowie was arrested on Tuesday in a case linking him to the murder of a 28 year old Monica Nyawira Kimani has been reported to have sought Lawyer Cliff Ombeta’s services.
Her fiance was arrested after Monica Kimani’s neighbors reported to police that Jowie was the last man sported at Kimani’s house in Kilimani before her demise.
According to one of the local dailies, Maribe reached out to Ombeta amid reports that she could be summoned by police to explain her whereabouts with her fiance on the night of the murder.
Thursday’s The Standard News Paper quoted Lawyer Ombeta admitting that Maribe had reached him for the services but until then the lawyer had no comment on that.
Ombeta is the lawyer who is tackling Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s case linking him to the gruesome murder of the pregnant Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno.
Obado was arrested on Friday last week after the DNA tests revealed that he was responsible for the pregnancy of Sharon whose unborn baby was also stabbed to death.
Obado will Today Thursday appear before Milimani Law Court’s Justice Jessie Lessit who will give ruling into Obado’s defense application to have him released on bail.
Obado has been in police custody for six days now since his arrest, and the question now is whether Lawyer Cliff Ombeta will set aside his case for a moment and tackle that of Jacque Maribe’s fiance.
