Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina has been summoned for interrogation over the ongoing Mau Forest clashes.
The Senator has been told to appear before the Narok County Security Team and intelligence officers on Monday at 10am.
“You are required to appear before the security and intelligence teams regarding a viral video and its impact on the inter ethnic relations,” a message to the Senator reads.
Ledama confirmed the message was from Narok County Commissioner George Natembeya. Natembeya recently put politicians on notice regarding the violence that has rocked the Mau Forest-line leading to the death of close to 10 people.
Natembeya told the Press that investigations into some politicians are ongoing, especially on those who have visited Mau Forest within the last two months to protest ongoing evictions.
Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto as well as MPs Johana Ngeno (Emurua Dikir), Nelson Koech (Belgut) among others have been to the Triangle area of Mau to protest the evictions.
On his part, Narok Senator Ledama Olekina visited the troubled Mau complex several times demanding that those encroaching on forest land be evicted.
After phase one of the evictions, the senator purchased a tractor to drill holes in the Mau Forest for planting trees, in partnership with the Kenya Forestry Research Institute(KEFRI).
They planted 20 million seedings using an aeroplane planter.
