Earlier today, IEBC announced the Migori senate by election which is set to take place on the 8th of Oct. This comes months after the passing of the late Senator Ben Olouch.

Kenyans have reacted to this saying that the IEBC should have considered merging that particular by-election with that of the gubernatorial seat to save on the cost.
Their reaction was probably triggered by the ongoing case of Sharon Otieno’s murder where the Migori Governor Okoth Obado is alleged to have aided and abetted in the killing. Sources reveal that Migori MCAs have already kicked off their plans to sign motion with the intention of impeaching the Governor.
You could have waited for Obado to be jailed then conduct the two elections for the Governor and Senator together to cut on costs.
