Jurgen Klopp has claimed that it could take summer signing Fabinho up to six months to truly adapt to Liverpool’s style of football. The Brazilian signed for the Reds in a big money deal from Monaco but he has not had the desired effect just yet.
That is because he has hardly featured, playing in only one game and that was as an 89th-minute substitute in the Champions League. Now, Jurgen Klopp has claimed it could be a while before Liverpool fans see the best of Fabinho.
The German boss has explained that it simply comes down to him getting used to the brand of football but all players go through that period.
“It’s not different between him and other players,” Klopp explained, as quoted by the Independent.
“It’s really not complicated, he just needs to get used to it.
“It’s about positioning, it’s about reaction, about spaces defensively, closing them, offensively using them.
“It’s a football team with a specific way of playing. “It needs time, and they were all used to other football teams. So you have natural runs in a team.”
