German publication ‘Bild’ has revealed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been working with an Olympian to help his players recover from matches, as they attempt to win the Premier League.

After winning each of their opening six league games, as well as their Champions League opener against PSG, Liverpool’s squad appears to be recovering quickly from its matches.

One reason for this could be the fact that Klopp has been working with former Olympic swimmer Mark Warnecke.

In 2005, Warnecke won a world title at the age of 35, the oldest swimmer to do so since 1971.

He has reportedly created two mineral drinks to help the Reds, one orange and one citron.

Warnecke describes Liverpool nutritionist Mona Nemmer as “the best nutritionist ever”.

Liverpool’s powers of recovery will be tested when they face Chelsea twice in four days – on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup, and on Saturday in the Premier League.
