AFC Leopards managerRodolfo Zapata has quashed rumors that he is looking to leave the Den. The Argentine added that he is committed to the club and is looking forward to working with the team next season.

“I honestly don’t know where that (resignation rumors) came from. Of-course after we lost to Sofapaka in the Shield semifinal we were all disappointed and I had a meeting with the boys in the locker room.

I was so proud of them and I told them that season is over for us and I am going to use the remaining matches to evaluate other players and give a proper report to NEC as we look forward to next season,” the tactician is quoted by Futaa.

“We were sad and disappointed in the locker room but I was so proud for their efforts. I took over the team just five months ago in a difficult situation with players that I hadn’t choosen and they had to adapt real quick.

We have got some good results and excellent performances but ofcourse we want to win everything. However it is a process and it takes time.” He added.

Zapata further urged Leopards fans and management to be patient with the team adding that he is in the process of building a success delivering unit.

AFC Leopards are currently third on the log with 51 points and will take on Tusker Fc at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos from 1400hrs in a Kenya Premier League encounter.
