Ronaldo and Messi BLASTED by ex-England boss over FIFA awards snub

Cristiano Ronaldo  and Lionel Messi have been accused of disrespecting their fellow players after the stars failed to attend the FIFA Best Awards.

Former Real Madrid and England boss Fabio Capello made the accusation after the ceremony which took place in London last night.

As Luka Modric scooped up yet another individual award, Ronaldo and Messi were conspicuous by their absence.

The Croatian is the first winner of an individual accolade since Kaka in 2007, following a decade of dominance from the former La Liga rivals.

Ronaldo moved to Juventus this summer meaning that he could only meet Messi in the Champions League.

The pair have faced off in various FIFA and UEFA ceremonies over the years, often resulting in awkward photos.

But Capello thinks the duo’s decision to snub the awards signifies a lack of respect to the sport of football as a whole.

Capello said, “Ronaldo and Messi’s absence is disrespectful to their fellow players, to FIFA, and to the football world, maybe they have won too much have too great a dislike of losing. In life, you have to know how to win and lose.

And Modric has revealed he wanted the legendary strikers there, while revealing he has not spoke to his former team-mate.

He continued  by saying “Everyone has their own reasons, obviously, I would have liked them to be here but they aren’t.
