Luka Modric thinks that Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah will be able to win the FIFA’s Best award in future.
The Croatian broke the domination of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo winning the FIFA world player of the year award when he claimed the prize on Monday evening.
Modric won the Champions League with Real Madrid, while his excellent performances in helping Croatia reach the World Cup final had already claimed him the tournament’s Golden Ball.
In his acceptance speech at the award ceremony in London for the Best award, the playmaker gave his backing to Salah to win the award in future.
“First of all I would like to give congratulations to Mohamed and Cristiano (Ronaldo) for the great seasons they had.
“I’m sure in the future you will have another opportunity to fight for this trophy”
At the age of 26, Salah still has plenty of time to improve in his career compared to the older Modric and Ronaldo, both 33.
