PSL side Kaizer Chiefs have assured Gor Mahia they will receive the transfer fees for left-back Godfrey Walusimbi who moved from the Kenyan champions during the mid-season transfer window.
Gor Mahia chairman revealed the team was yet to receive payment from Chiefs, ending speculation that some officials had received money from the deal. However Kaizer Chiefs Manager Bobby Motaung has assured the money has been wired and Gor will receive it soon.
“This is not a scam. It’s an international transfer. There are regulations that we needed to follow from the Reserve Bank. The payment was done and the approval was made on Friday. They should be getting their money soon.” He is quoted as saying by South African portal Kick Off.
Gor Mahia is going through a financial crunch that forced club chairman to release a strongly worded statement to bring an end the speculations about financial misappropriation by top honchos at the club.
