Kenyans on twitter have blasted Garissa Township Member of parliament and majority leader Aden Duale for forcing the 8% VAT tax to pass.
During the voting for the tax in the parliament, Duale was seen urging Jubilee members to leave the chambers so as the 233 number of members required to oppose the tax is not met.
Hon. Duale whipping members to leave the chambers. Meaning the 233 number won’t be met #TaxVoteKe

Duale and the speaker led the vote thuggery. It’s completely unfair, the independence of Parliament is really being tested here https://t.co/lPnxP9XASg

Aden Bare duale is as good as nothing. Why?
1.He doesn’t pay tax.
2.He lives in a govnt house.
3.He is ever confused when it comes to serious issues.
4.He is easily compromised to accept bills that hurts Kenyans.Where did this man come from?#TaxVoteKe

A large number of members led by Tom Kajwang were leading the 0% tax campaign which minority leader John Mbadi and Majority leader Aden Duale were opposing.
However, the members who had left the chambers came back later which saw other members shouting at them as “wasaliti!”
The passing of the 8% VAT tax will see imposition of taxes on telecommunication services among them money transactions and data bundles.
