Arsenal Stars eyeing Champions League return

Arsenal defender Stephan Lichtsteiner has admitted he is hungry to take his side back into the Champions League.

The competition returned this week and Arsenal’s free summer signing wants to take the north London club back to Champions League. This is the second season the Gunners have featured in Europe’s second tier and in the first one they reached the semi-finals under Arsene Wenger.

“I am hungry to get back to the Champions League. But it is a long way and we have two chances – the Europa League and the Premier League. We want to try as I am sure we want to play Champions League next year,” he said ahead of Europa League opener.

The 34-year-old is yet to start for Arsenal after joining on a free transfer from Juventus in the summer but is expected to come into the side as Emery makes changes for the Vorskla clash.
