The fans too to twitter to express their displeasure after Paris Saint Germain’s 3-2 loss to Liverpool in the Group C’s Championsleague Match opener.
They said the midfield was non-existent with the absence of Italian Anchorman Marco Verratti. The manager, Thomas Tuchel played Brazilian Centre half Marquinho’s instead, alongside Frencman Adrien Rabiot and Argentine Angel Di Maria.
Tonight showed how crucial and important Marco Verratti is to PSG.

Di Maria in a midfield three with Thiago Motta and Marco Verratti a bit different to Di Maria in a mid 3 with Marquinhos and Rabiot

?????? without Marco Verratti, PSG midfield is shitty. Diara can’t play this kinda high tempo game https://t.co/X1dzvHLnnY

Marco Verratti is more important to PSG than Naymer… Argue that using Concord paper.

– Van Djik is a nightmare to go up against as a forward, he even makes Cavani look small
– Sturridge showed glimpses of his old, injury fee self
– Marco Verratti is massively underrated as his absence showed in the midfield
– Firminho is world class when he wants to be

It was very obvious that PSG missed Marco Verratti tonight. The midfield looked lost without the Italian and there wasn’t a single PSG player who could control the game and give service to Neymar-Cavani-Mbappè like he does.
Alarming for Tuchel as Verratti is injury prone

press resistant. That player in PSG’s team is Marco Verratti, his ability to get out of tight spaces is almost unmatched. With him out, Marqui & Rabiot were forced to play back to the defence since they couldn’t go forward. The ball would then go to the flanks and we would loose

Marco Verratti’s influence on PSG is something that you can’t measure. Yes, the trio of Neymar-Cavani-Mbappe will win a lot of points. But in European nights, you need someone that can keep control of the game and actually provide sustainable service to the trio.

Marco Verratti IS PSG’s midfield, that’s why they can’t find any options

Marco Verratti is being missed massively in the midfield tbh.
